Engines
Engines are turned in the presence of the customer to confirm they are not seized and have no bent valves. A brand-new, unused heat tab will be fitted to the cylinder head and explained to the customer. The oil sump and oil pick-up must be opened and cleaned by a qualified mechanic. A full engine service is required, including oil and filter change, spark plugs, belts, and seals. Proof of service must be provided. All necessary oil seals must be replaced, and proof is required. Timing must be set to manufacturer’s specifications. Timing belts or chains should be replaced if necessary (recommended). The oil pressure gauge must be functional. Oil pressure should be checked before the first start-up. A brand-new thermostat and water pump must be fitted (proof required). The entire cooling system must be flushed, inspected, and topped with antifreeze. Engine overheating is not covered by guarantee.
External components including alternators, aircon pumps, power steering pumps, injectors, manifolds, pulleys, sensors, turbos, and similar items are not covered. Petrol engines carry a 1-month guarantee from date of purchase, covering the cylinder head and block only. For diesel engines, calibration of the diesel pump, injector testing, and timing belt replacement is strongly advised.
Guarantee Limitations
Samco Engines Gearbox & Diff Supplies is not liable for labour costs, towing, freight, vehicle hire, downtime, or loss of income due to product failure. Removal or tampering with the heat tab will immediately void the guarantee. Fitment must be carried out by an RMI-accredited workshop or qualified mechanic. Damage caused by over-revving, negligent driving, or malicious use is not covered. High-performance engines are sold without any guarantee. All items are second-hand and sold with inherent risk.
Manual Gearboxes
Manual gearboxes carry a 7-day fitment guarantee from date of purchase. For rear-wheel-drive gearboxes, the propshaft must be correctly balanced. Damage to the extension housing is not covered. A new spigot shaft bearing must be fitted. No warranty is given on broken gears. Gearbox mountings must be in good condition. Only manufacturer-specified oil may be used. No oil or incorrect oil will void the guarantee. Gearbox casings must be inspected at the time of purchase.
Automatic Gearboxes
All automatic gearboxes are sold strictly as-is for parts only. No guarantee, exchange, or refund will be provided under any circumstances. Customers must inspect the gearbox before purchase. All purchases are made entirely at the customer’s own risk.
Brand New Parts
All brand-new parts are sold strictly with no guarantee, no exchange, and no returns. Customers must inspect all brand-new parts before purchase. Once sold, brand-new parts are accepted entirely at the customer’s own risk.
Refunds
Goods for refund are only accepted within 7 days and are subject to full inspection. Tampered or melted heat tabs result in no refund or exchange. Goods must be returned in original purchase condition. Stripped items will not be accepted. Returns for credit require the original invoice and carry a 20% handling charge. Failure to produce a valid invoice voids any guarantee, exchange, or refund. No cash refunds will be issued. EFT refunds will be processed within 7 days. Finance charges and delivery or freight charges are non-refundable.
